Comic-Con San Diego International was established as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by a blend of San Diegans that started Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger, and Mike Towry; Succeeding, it was termed the “San Diego Comic Book Convention”. Hence, it signifies a four-day celebration held throughout the summer (in July since 2003) in the San Diego Convention Center. On Wednesday night heading to the official opening, experts, exhibitors, and pre-registered companies for all four days can attend a pre-event “Preview Night” to give attendees the opportunity to walk the exhibit hall and see what will be available during the convention.

Over the times, Comic-Con has grown the focal point for the cosmos of comics conventions. The event continues to offer the entire convention event. A large Exhibit Hall covering over 460,000 square feet in its current incarnation.

Comic-Con has performed literally thousands of special guests at its meetings over the years.
